Two new songs for download!
At the end of May we spent some time at Different Fur Studios recording two songs which have been part of our live set for a while now: "Hologram" and "Wild Alone." They're posted to our Music page right now, and we'll probably get them up to the Imeem and MySpace pages soon enough:
Hologram (5.4 MB MP3)
Wild Alone (5.4 MB MP3)
Let us know what you think!
Recording
Yes, that's Jade singing into a cup of coffee, trying to get exactly the right effect for the gurgling underwater background vocals which will be featured throughout our upcoming rock opera, Die Skalen des Aquamenschen.
Last weekend we spent over 20 hours at Different Fur studios with Aaron Burnham, who helped us record and edit "Hologram" and "Wild Alone," which have been part of our set for almost a year. Finally committed to rough mix, we'll probably have final versions out very soon.
We came we saw, we bled.
That's right — I ripped some flesh off my ring finger during "Rabbitdog Lizardsnake." Look at me Damien, it's all for you.
...and of course for everyone else too. A big THANK YOU to all our friends who came to our shows and voted for us in the Battle of the Bands. Yesterday wouldn't have happened without you. For those of you who braved the chilly post-race Footstock festival, extra special love and attention is deserved (requited, not so much, but keep a tab anyway).
Best part for me personally was congratulating each and every one of the Kenyan race winners as they approached the stage to receive their awards, while smiling Jade and Tony, resplendent in his rhinestone sunglasses, sang a-capella "Sex Friend" in our open-air "green room" porta-tent.
Several of our friends were snapping photos, but until they get them developed, you can glimpse the dionysian joy and holy mass of inebriates that is San Francisco's Bay to Breakers on Flickr.
BAY TO BREAKERS FOOTSTOCK - Next SUNDAY, MAY 18th!!!
Hey...it's almost here! Next Sunday (May 18) we open the ING Bay to Breakers Footstock Festival in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco (with The Last Goodnight headlining). We are so excited! It's FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. So, come on over and listen to some great music while you rest up after running/walking/skipping/however-the-hell-you-transported-yourself though the Bay to Breakers course. Even if you don't "run" and B2B is an observation sport for you, come on anyway. And, Footstock is not just about the music. There will be great food, a costume contest, and (did I mention?) there will be BEER Gardens. :)

Bay to Breakers Battle of the Bands
Hey hey hey, one week away. I got a chance to see The Hot Toddies last Friday in Berkeley, leading a lineup that included The Attachments and Or, The Whale. Next Wednesday's going to be a great show. I loved "Seattle." Jade and Tony are especially looking forward to hearing The Young Has Beens. Good times. Check out the show detail page.

Hemlock Tavern News
The Crazies Will Destroy You played its first.show.evarr!! at Hemlock Tavern Sunday night and, as promised, destruction ensued. Thanks for coming out and supporting (if you did) and come and see us on March 7 at Hotel Utah.
Thanks again to the Gibbs, Jessie Deluxe and the Hemlock for getting us the gig and letting us play with them. If you stuck around for either or both, you got a triple dose of rockage.
I know a lot of you took pictures at the show, so if you want to share, send them to us and we'll put it up on the website.
Thanks for coming out on a Sunday, and we'll see you at the next show.
Love,
The Crazies Will Destroy You
